Pottsboro holds on to defeat Farmersville 24-17

It took a team effort, offense, defense, special teams for the Cardinals to defeat Farmersville 24-17 Friday night.  With the win Pottsboro is at   2-0 in district 2A-6 tied with Van Alstyne for 1st place.  Pottsboro had to rally in the 2nd half, trailing 17-10 in the 3rd quarter Questin Stumpff came up with the play of the game, hitting Farmer qb Cole Anderson before he could get a pass off and causing a fumble that was recovered by Chris Delacruz for a touchdown.  On the ensuing kickoff Farmersville failed to cover the ball and the Cardinals Jacob Urquizo recovered, that set up a 33 yard td pass from Zane Pritchett to Kory Waller to make it 24-17.  The Cards had to get a huge 4th down stop at the 5 yard line with 30 seconds left to hold on.
