2014 Season Recap

The Pottsboro Cardinals had one of the best seasons in school history, finishing 12-2 and a trip to the Region Finals.  The Cardinals also continued an incredible streakwinning their 4th straight District Championship and in the process winning their 23rd straight district game.    DSC_7561

 

Pottsboro had some big showdowns during 2014, the games that stand out the most were wins at Farmersville 38-24 and Van Alstyne 28-21 plus the sensational victory over Pilot Point in Pottsboro 22-7.

There were several milestones reached in 2014 Pottsboro coach Matt Poe passed Ronny Ray for the most wins in history   and is now 82-26 in 9 seasons.  Zane Pritchett had the most combined rushing(1648) and passing(2122) yards in school   history with 3770.  Myles Mitchusson had the 2nd most catches in a season with 51.  Patton Lyons was phenomenal with almost 200 tackles.

Pottsboro ended 2014 at 12-2 and with 13 starters returning 2015 should be even better, the only thing left for the Cardinals to accomplish is a
State Championship.
