16 Oct Pottsboro Rolls Over Callisburg 56-0

Pottsboro dominated Callisburg in a 5-3A district game Friday night, winning 56-0.  It was perfect weather, great crowd and superlative outcome for the Cardinals.

Pottsboro fans have heard the stories about the exploits of Hunter Watson, who starred as a Sophomore at Denison High School.   In his 3rd start at QB we finally found out what everyone was talking about.  Watson threw 4 td passes and ran for 2..  Watson threw 4 touchdown passes in the first half 2 each for Myles Mitchusson and Matthew Poe as  the Cardinals built a 35-0 lead.  Watson ended up 23-28-0 passing 241 yards plus 143 rushing yards and 2 td’s

Pottsboro’s defense turned in their 2nd straight outstanding night, holding the Wildcats to 78 total yards in the first half and 169 for the game.  Pottsboro improves to 6-1 and 2-0 in district play, the Cardinals head to Pilot Point next Friday, the Bearcats are the only other district team with a 2-0 record.
